Bouf Sightings : KNP Nov-Dec 2005

Unread postby DebM » Mon Mar 13, 2006 5:06 pm

Entered the park through Crocodile Bridge, it was good to be back. Had a fairly uneventful drive to Lower Sabie, the park was very green and there was a lot of standing water. Highlight was a small herd of Ellie's crossing the road. Had a close encounter with a suicidal bushbuck ram, came out of the very thick bush just in front of the vehicle. The largest predator in our first few days, not counting crocs, was a banded mongoose. Sightings of rhino, reedbuck and bushbuck, a large herd of Buffs 200+, and a herd of waterbuck of about 40, never seen that many in one place before. Fortunatly no really close encounters with Ellie's. Left for Satara on 30th Nov.

Far away there in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them but I can look up and see their beauty, believe in them, and try to follow them. Louisa May Alcott

what took you so long? I think all your pics are great! Where did you see "the" snake?
Don't wait too long with the Satara sightings

"The" snake was resting on a clump of dry grass, extremely well camouflaged, along the H4-2 Croc Bridge Lower Sabie road.

Pics form the Satara/Orpen Area
