Update from C & C on their sightings for today.

All the general game, plus very exciting sighting of a Mom and tiniest White Rhino ever seen, was ever so cute. Dear little thing got itself entangled in a bush at one stage and was going forward and backwards to get itself free.. too adorable.

Heksie!!!! :hmz: message for you:- Carol.. would like you please to bring back all the Lions you took home with you. :)

Update of sightings for today from Carol.

Very tired looking male lion that looked as if he was recovering from a big party and general game.

A herd of a bout 300 Buffalo, but otherwise just general game. Bush very thick with lots of water around, very hard to see the game.

ps:- Heksie :hmz: ...Please return the rest of the Lions, not just that old tired one you sent back. :)

They are spending tonight at Olifants.

On their travels today they saw:- Elephants, Wild dogs, Jackals, Buffalo, Rhino and all the general game.

Has a hilarious story to tell about Tshokwane. Carol will include story in the TR when she posts on their return.

Before I start this TR there are a few things I must explain, I post off an I pad and my SO has a laptop, all the pics are loaded onto his laptop and unfortunately, he has to take it with him on his trips all over the country.
He also still has to open an account with tinypic or another resizing thingy, any advice would be welcome.

What I'm trying to explain is that the pics will have to wait until he has time to do this. And I then can learn to post them.
Please be patient I will post the pics as soon as I can, in the mean time I will take you on our Kruger trip with a detailed day by day report on our sightings, and will post all the pics when they are ready

Day 1
After not sleeping well because of the excitement of our trip. We set off from Bloemfontein at 5.30 in the morning.
About 2 km from our home Carrier brought the car to a sudden stop, got out and looked in the boot.Returning to the drivers seat he informed me that he had left the bag with our booking slip, map ect in the garage at home.

We turned around and went back home to fetch it and then by 6am we were on our way

We drove right thru as far as Millys where we stopped for coffee

Then it was off to nelspruit , and stopped at woolies, to buy fresh veg ect for our stay.

We arrived at our timeshare close to CB at about 3.30, unpacked and then settled down on our patio to have a look what we could see in the riverbed. There where Ellie's, buffs, waterbuck, impala hippo and a massive croc there.

After taking some pics, Carrier lit the fire for our first braai.

It was very dark already when we heard lions roaring, but could not see them, but just hearing them filled us with excitement for the next day

Went to bed and slept well after our long trip

Day 2 11th may 2013

We were at the gate at CB bright and early, when we got to the check in we were told that our wild card was not valid, luckily I had the confirmation letter with me proving that we had renewed it, and after the lady had written our new number on our card with koki pen we were allowed to enter our beloved Kruger .

We took the H4-2 towards LS and saw a lot of gen game, the bush was very thick and there was a lot of water around, the animals looked healthy and fat from the feast they were having on all the nice green grass after all the rain.
About 5km along the road I suddenly saw a movement next to the road and shouted to Carrier to stop, great excitement for there looking at us was a leopard, and disappearing into the bush was her beautiful cub. That really made our day.
We drove on and where the river starts before LS in a tree were to lovely fish eagles.
We had breakfast at LS, unfortunately not the best I've ever had, but it filled sorted out our hunger pangs :D
We then stopped at sunset dam, but besides a lot of hippo, crocs and 1 impala there was nothing els to see

We took the S28 back to CB, saw lots of gen. Game.

Somewhere on the N1 we saw a few w rhino.

Will do day 3 tomorrow .
