Melkvlei lion story continue!
We stopped at Melkvlei Picnic site just to show how close the lions were (at the trees on the left of the parked car) and completely out of sight of the picnic tables, but only about 120 meters away! Scary!!!

We once found a male lion (December 2 years ago) under the picnic table at Dikbaardskolk, when we stopped about three meters from him! Did not see him at first!
We turned back to TR and were ready to see our first lion kill at Rooiputs! A lone springbok.

They started stalking the unaware bokkie about 40 meters away!

It was getting late, but we were stretching the delay for our return drive to TR!

Then this car approached on the Rooiputs 4x4 route and drove right in between the lions and the springbok and stopped there! We and six other cars' passengers were furious!

I positioned myself so that I could take pictures of the possible kill where the bokkie was, but now I had to do these through the front tinted window and the kill abandoned!

On our way back we saw tree secretary birds chasing one another on the ridge, but I managed on two by the time I stopped for the picture!

It was very late and time almost overdue when we saw this collared mom and one cub only about 10 km from Samevloeiing !with a kill!

It was time to say good-bye to the Kgalagadi again, but we still had two nights at Augrabies to try and orientate us again with the real life!

We saw all the regular wildlife, bird life and critters of KTP: 22 lions; 13 hyenas; eland; leopard with kill; 6 cheetahs and 7 giraffes.
