Hi Carol,
Thanks. We realized many times we have been lucky with so many sightings, maybe because both of us are sunday kids :) :)

WendyA,
Thanks... and sure.. during our stay in Satara we have seen many many lions along the S100 and that makes it even more special for a Cheetah mother with 5 cubs. At the time of sighting they were not that small anymore but realizing she was going around with little cubs there ... and just after that sighting we met a big pride of lion again... pointing to that area with so many enemies of the Cheeath...

What an amazing sighting! As you said, it certainly couldn't have been easy for that Mother raising her cubs in an area like the S100 with all the predators around.

Awesome photos - thanks for sharing!

Bushbuddies,
S100 can be very disappointing but also very rich...that makes it special. I think all cubs do live their own life by now, maybe some are together (brothers) and the females will go on their own finally... but, good chance to see cheetah in that area. Really hope you will be lucky and hope ro see them in your TR later on

That was the one Siobain and I have been waiting for, Aat and Elly.   It was special witnessing this sighting - indeed one of the finest cheetah sightings we have ever had ourselves (and my first to see cubs so close and frolicking unperturbed) - but doubly so when sharing it with fellow forumites. We just smiled when your personalised meeting with two of the cubs unfolded before our eyes, happy that true nature lovers were experiencing one of the rare opportunities that Nature had bestowed upon us. You have captured those moments beautifully here, Aat.

Thanks OWN,
I did not want to wait too long with this story for you. It was really special in different ways. Think we all enjoyed this very very much.
If you like to have a set of pictures you're welcome...can send you as many you like, knowing your camera did not work that time.
Hope all is well with you :) :)
