Aat,

What a great experience. We saw several pregnant Impala and lots and lots of newborns, but to watch a baby come into this world is priceless. Sorry we missed you at Shingwedzi. I think we had some confusion with the people at reception. I went by and asked for your cottage number and they told me you had just been there to get mine. I think they were mistaken and it was actually Porridge who had come by.

Maybe next time.....

Daron

Porridge,
thanks... and yes, I think you can tell a story / sighting but showing it is much better I guess
A sighting you never forget....

Hi Carol g,
Idd fantastic or other similar words to express this ... during the birth no noise by the mother... the interaction between mother and baby.... mother being alert all the time.... and the little one trying to stand up...falling down...trying again.... and even almost tumbling drinking... tumbling and drinking again... really something you never forget... :)

Oh Aat, what a fantastic thing to have been part of .to think how quickly the little one got to its feet!!! Nature is really wonderful.

Dear Aat and Elly,

When a baby is born it doesn't matter what it is and now you proved to us again with this special series of impi photos - just how wonderful a new life is :k :k

Aat,
If i am not mistaken, your ELLY had a b/day now recently. Please give her a hug from me :k :gflower:

Sharifa,
You are expressing exactly the feelings we had. We were hoping the little one to stand up... we were looking for predators... even thinking I should chase them away   and as kind of "grant parents" we named him/her Gomondwane.... crazy?? but speachless as we were it was how we thought :) :)

Sharifa wrote:
Aat that was a wonderful sighting and how well you captured it

We saw the birth of a springbok in KTP last year and every step of the way I was willing the little one to get up and walk. Also kept a watch for predators. very hard they do not appear.
When the little one got to the mom and started drinking I had tears in my eyes. Just couldn't stop them from rolling down my face :)

Daron,
Idd sorry too for missing at Shingwedzi. I was talking to Porridge close to the shop and gave my cottage # but probably we were not around much since we got up early every day and returned late. So yes, hope to meet next time. The birth story is one of our best ones this trip , simply ... we have never seen this before and is as you say "priceless" :) :)
