After such an exciting start we decided to have breakfast at Melkvlei and drive back via the lower dunes road and the Auob River…
First sighting was an Eland close to the road and pretty relaxed.

Here we had a little visitor.

South of Auchterlonie we came upon this beautiful Male having a rest just beside the road.

We had a good rest at the camp before heading our once again in the afternoon.
First sighting……
A young Eland. The Elands seemed to be everywhere…
Larger ViewAt Samevloeiing a Mongoose was having a drink.
We had a good laugh, when she approached the waterhole she scared away an Ostrich…..This big bad Mongoose
Unfortunately we were too slow for capturing it…

Such a beauty!
Larger ViewOn the road over the Dunes we spotted a couple of Sandgrouses.
Such wonderful small birds.
We love them, but even more their sound when they approach the waterholes in the morning.
Larger ViewIt has been quite an exciting day.
Now it was time for a little chat with Arks, Jannie and Vanessa.
Arks had checked the internet for us, we had told her that we were sad, that we had only been able to book two nights at Grootkolk. She found out that there was still one night available that we might be able to grab
We will try our luck as soon as the reception opens the next the morning
