Hey, Heksie

Totally agree, what a lovely beautiful piece of road and all the birdies were the paint that made it colour full!

Awesome pics of everything - and so many long necks in one shot, very nice!

Did you know? The Black collard barbets mate for life and there call is a duet to strengthen their bond. We have some BCBs visiting our bird feeding plank in winter!

Wonderful Heksie. I'm so glad you got to see those birds on your wish list. Exciting hey!  This Ben Schoeman makes it worthwhile to travel on the real ben Schoeman-en route to KNP.

Hi Heksie,

Amazing what you 2 spotted before reaching Croc bridge  .

Like you giraffe sighting a lot. The green trees and all them long necks sticking out makes such a great photograph.

Shame your kudu bull didn’t want to pose, but I find all kudus bulls have that habit :hmz: .

Really like your croc pic, it looks so fears.

Nice birdies and your unemotional pic is awesome, they are really showing you that they have got 2 sides  .

Really Enjoyed every bit of it. Some Great sightings    . A Leppie Tortie is still a Leppie

Thanks for the compliment Kallis :gflower: I believe each kiekie a person takes are special to them one way or another
I agree that a leppie tortie is seen as a leppie

Beautiful pictures Heksie! I love the gentle Giraffes! And what an awesome Leopard Tortoise and the Kudu with the beautiful horns!

I agree with your ID of a juvenile Fish Eagle!

Those Baboons are having a very serious conversation!

Stunning picture of the stunning Bateleur, followed by a very angry Croc!

Beautiful birdie pictures, all in all, and those magnificent Rhinos are so special! :D

Thanks for sharing!

People said that there was a dead hippster in a small waterpool but all I saw was the juvie fish eagle-didn't want to see a dead animal in anyway  Thanks for my ID of the birdie :gflower:
Now all your compliments makes me sommer  Really appreciate your compliments and so glad that you are still on this broom

Heksie,

Wonderful sightings and awesome :cam: . Once again proves it is not just about the Big5 it incorporates the whole of Kruger. :gflower:

Giraffe are stunning in the group with the beautiful green vegetation as backdrop.
How 8) to have had first time sighting of the fire finch and black collared barbet, with great pics.
Bataleur captured perfectly, croc lazing in the sun.

N4 guys look very chilled.

Ya I totally agree that a drive is definitely not about the Big5  The Kruger hold so many treasures that needs to be discovered but people are blinded by the Big5 craze :slap:
I have so many birdies that I need to see so almost every birdy is anew one for me

Ja that dam on the right past Nkuhlu 8) It would be a nice place to see cats in the open one day 8)

Seeing cats in the open sounds like an idea but they have to get the memo first
Thanks for the compliment parra-I do try my best

Lekker episode Heksie! It is the nicest thing to still be a relatively "new birder". Because seeing new birdies still happen often for us folks. The guys with like 500 on their list - they are extatic if they see 1 new birdie a trip! :slap:

Love the scenery along the Ben Schoeman - it is just a lovely area with some nice sightings usually!

I agree about being a new birder as almost every birdy is an exciting new find for me and I get so super excited that my mum thinks that I have lost the plot
Ben schoeman is the best if you want to see scenery and rhinos  Take Schoeman str if you want to see sables 8)

I know that you have seen them already being a stiffie and all Pumbaa  But it was nice to see them birdies, it was just hard to spot the finches, it was a sunset dam and I was like..WHAAAAT is that? And only with the binocs could I ID them :D

I saw one a few years ago and while I was pondering what it was, it caught a fish.

Yay I got the ID right  I do struggle with the juveniles, the only reason I know what a juvie Bateleur is, is the fact that they have blue beaks  Otherwise I'm maar a bit clueless about them :slap:
An eagle catching a fish definitely must be a fish eagle I say
Mine was above a dead hippo... would then have been a hipopotomuseagle???

People don't understand how the small things like birdies, flowers and goggas can uplift a dreary bush and make it so much more but I do know that we understand eachother

Juveniles are always difficult Heksie, but the more you practise the better you get. And if you go with an expert.....

It was heavy exhilarating to see them and then to be able to ID them  I felt like I was on top of the Kruger
