Hilda, had a look on the map and it is the Marheya dam.
I want to take this opportunity to thank every one that had commented or viewed our Sweni trail experience.
Summary of the trail.
Pro's:If you asked me if I would do another trail the answer is a big yes. The trail is expensive +- R3900 per person but it is worth every sent.
Every night we hear the Lions roar, the Hyenas call and had the most beautiful sunsets.
We learned a lot about small things while walking. The feeling of walking in Lion country and don't know what is around the next corner makes it very special and exciting. Ones adrenaline get pumping!
The food was superb and we enjoyed the chat around the fire every night to add that extra bush feeling.
We met wonderful people who we shared some exciting moments and laughter with and the Rangers were very professional, had great stories to tell and we learned a lot about the African bush.
Con's:There are not many negatives.
The first day we walked too far before stopping at something interesting, but we had a talk with them and then discovered many interesting small things. The whole idea of walking in Kruger is to learn more about the field, animals, other Fiona and Flora and not running a marathon.
Also thanks to the Ladies that allowed me to post these images. There is no talking while you are walking and hopefully the images will tell the full story and encourage more people to venture in to the bush.
Highlights:Following the fresh Lion spoor.
Poachers .
Sundowners - beautiful sunsets .
The Lions mating in perfect light.
Complements to the chef, the food was superb.
The sounds of the night..Lions ,Hyenas,Jackals and night owls.
Smell of the bush fire.
The neat and beautiful Sweni kamp.
I also hope that my report will give in site into the real trail experience , hopefully more people will book for the trails and experience the bush at its best. For those not so lucky, I hope you enjoyed my images.
