Hi everyone,
This is my first trip report so I am not sure how it will turn out but anyway, here goes!
Our great caravan friends Papa & Mama Smurf arrived at our home in Pretoria yesterday from Calitzdorp with their caravan and we will be leaving together on the morning of the 16th August heading North.
Our first stop will be Lalapanzi between Polokwane and Makhado where we will overnight.
The next morning we will head off towards Punda to start a 21 day trip down the length of KNP. We cant wait!!
our yellow ribbons are ready for attachment and we are looking forward to meeting other YR's for a chat and swop sightings.
One of our favourite spots is Mlondozi dam where we will definitely be having a skottel brekkie when we are down that area .

Thanks so much for all the good wishes for a great trip.
We have been caravanning with the Smurfs for many years and I know we will have great time.
Hopefully we will also see some amazing things to pass on to everyone, but beven if we dont always see "the BIG FIVE" just being in the park and experiencing every days changing panorama, the beautiful landscape and the variety of wildlife is a total thrill.
Will do our best to keep you all informed after the trip.

Hi 'mites
Well we have arrived in Pretoria and have joined up with the "Serpents" and together we are are now getting all the provisions ready for ther trip.
The Smurfs stayed at the Camdeboo National Park on the way up and can recomend the camping area to any one who is thinking of staying there.
After arriving at the Serpents Den we had our caravan servised by a mobile caravan service guy who came to the house to do it and now that side of the check list is complete.
On thursday morning we start the big treck North so the excitement is mounting. Friday morning we will enter the Park via the Punda Maria gate and 3 weeks later we leave via Crock Bridge.
If we get a chance we will try (comms permitting) to do the occasional updates while we are enjoying ourselves
so in the meantime get the ready

hi there
Well we arrived in Kruger on Friday in rain that followed us all thev way from out overnight stop. By the time we had set up camp in Punda we were all a few inches taller with all the mud that stuck to our shoes -- but hay thats parrt of camping and who cares when you are in Kruger!!!
The sightings up along the Luvuvhu River were great with Nyala almost outnumbering Impala. Lots of birds were also ticked but the Pufuri area is very dry.
Today we moved to Shing and could not beleave how little water there is in the Kanniedood Dam. In the river next to the road from the N1-6 to the camp the Ellies were actually digging for water with the little ones running from group to group to try and get a drink from the holes dug. Rain is needed in this area very badly. Just to top it the temp reached 38* this afternoon and this in August ????
