Pumbaa and hilda - thank you, we are enjoying the trip so far. Must add though, it has been a lot quieter sighting wise compared to last year. The weather was also overcast with occasional drops, hence not good for great bird photography.

Jan, it was great meeting you at Lake Panic and sharing with me a few tips. I thoroughly enjoyed the time we had spent. I hope to return to LP on our way down from Mopani (where we are for the next 3 days) and get some better pics to share when home again in Jan.

Must add, managed to see a few YR's and say hello to WendyA, Heksie, Sparrow, PetraJ, Bushbby49 and SurfCindy & Riaan31.

Hi Jan - what a brilliant hippo pic. :) :) :) :) :) :) :)

Waterbuck at LP - that must have been a great sighting.

On our way from Satara to Berg n Dal today, managed to pop in at LP about 14h00. Although a rainy day, the activity at LP was great with MK posing long for us, hippo out of the water on the righthand side of the hide, grey heron with a catch and some crocs active close to the hide. So, we had a great time at LP.

On a  note, as we drove out from LP to turn left on the gravel road to the tar road, we noticed a large silver combi with trailer of one of the resorts parking with driver standing outside "watering" the grass. I stopped a showed him a finger and he laughed at me after which I took the camera and took a photo of the Combi and then he jumbed in the car and drove off. :rtm: :rtm: :rtm: This was really bad behaviour and I will report the evience to SANParks so they can handle it with the specific resort/company :rtm:

Thanks for sharing your report of LP, Jan - I hope to visit twice more in the next few days and hope for sunny weather.

Thank you Hilda

As mentioned the EG's had 9 offspring. The first few days the mother took them around the dam but decided to take short cut over the dam....

....Halfway they got spook and the parents took off and the small ones swim for their life to the other side...what a moment....
