Lake Panic is such a special place...all these magnificent photos posted by talented photographers capture the essence of this oasis perfectly.

We were so disappointed in October 2012 to arrive as a family feeling all the usual annual anticipation of visiting this special place, only to be told by a ranger that there was absloutely no point in waiting as there were too many paying guests who would be remining in the hide for a substantial time!! However, we waited patiently for them to come out for about 30mins, only to enter and to be snubbed by a very serious 'twitcher' who had taken up an entire bench with all his cameras and was tutting at every 'ooh' an d'aahh' we made...please can all visitors to this special place remember that it is for everyone to share and enjoy - mutual respect all round is appreciated all round...given to the professionals by us amateurs and apprecaited in from them in return to us!

We look forward to being there again in 2013...

Is this true? I am not aware of any "paying guests" at Lake Panic!? :hmz:

Lake Panic is very popular because it is so beautiful, therefore it is very busy. But paying guests? I don't think so.

Appreciate the comments and views

Great images jaybabe....love the Hippo's and golden light

Divine7polo - Agree with Hilda, LP is for three but can get busy specially if you see a few of the open vehicles in the parking space. People come and go and sometimes children don't keep quiet but it is important for them to experience the wonderful sightings and will hopefully come back when the are older
