I think the first shot was taken exactly at the same time you snapped us!

The Prize giving dinner Saturday night was the highlight of the cricket weekend. It was awesome to chat with everyone and we enjoyed the entertainment and speeches very much. The food was delicious and the atmosphere fabulous.

I thought it would be a nice idea to make some Yellow ribbon key chains for everyone attending the cricket. So I got some ribbon, and in only a few days time I made 180 key chains with the help of Kwikstertjie. (I have some key chains left if anyone is interested. If you donate R10 to the anti poaching fund, I will send you a key chain, (without the 'cricket at skukuza logo' on it) Photo's will follow)



We arrived a bit early at the skukuza golf club and putted the key chains on the tables. People started arriving at 18:00 and the atmosphere was just fantastic with music playing in the background.



The speeches started and while we were all listening, we heard a few impala's making alarm calls right next to us. It was fantastic to be so close to nature, knowing there might be a preditor close by watching us.

Chris Coetzer (gompou) agreed to do the entertainment for us, and what a wonderful singer he is. He is also one of the 3 Tenore and a singing coach to many students. He ask one of his new students, 15 year old Marius, to sing a song as well. Here is a few video clips put together.

We were very happy that Gerharddb finally agreed to sing us 1 song. Hy is a well known forum member and what not many forumites know...he is also a very good singer. So enjoy this video clip...

It took about a half hour to say goodbye to everyone. We felt like one big family, with all the hugs and kisses
we got.

We left the golf club pretty early and drove via the Skukuza village in the dark. A BIG crocodile crossed the road and that was something you don´t see everyday. It took quite some time to fell asleep with all the excitement of the evening. But we had to sleep early, we had a long day ahead of us.

The plan was to wake up at 5, but we decided to sleep just 30 minutes longer . Our flight to Amsterdam were leaving
at 23 59 so we had a long day ahead of us. We packed our luggage for the last time, and took the Phabeni road. Although we felt sad to leave Kruger, we missed our husbands and kids and were exited to go home.

Just as we turned onto the phabeni road, we stopped next to a few cars. How lucky can to get. A leopard in a tree on our way out of kruger. It´s not the best picture, but the only one I got from that distance.



A few kilometers further, a few cars slowed us down... Wild dogs... They just crossed the road and were heading off into the grasses. How amazing is that.

And as if that is not enough, at the S4 junction , Kwikstertje shouted....STOP. On the left side of the road, on the rocks was a very cute mom and teenager who came to say goodbye to us.

It was 2 cheetahs. We were jumping up and down and could´t believe our luck. We spend about 30 minutes with them before leaving Kruger. What an amazing trip this was with so much fantastic sightings. We were so blessed. Thanks to all the forum mites who made this trip even more memorable. See you in August maybe.
