A rather belated Kgalagadi coming up. Our September trip.
Our trip started on 20 September and this time we were going straight to Mata Mata after sleeping over at Askham night before.
We arrived at Mata Mata after a fairly uneventful trip. The weather was playing along, a very pleasant 30. After setting up camp and getting the fire started, I scouted around for some photo opportunity.

This Yellow Mongoose was scurrying around preparing for the night and could not help copying a Meerkat.
The day of the 21st we set out early. The night had been cool and a fairly mild day seemed on the cards.
At gate opening time we hit the road.

Vulture nest very close to the road. The early morning light the right time for a good shot.

So too this ‘family’ of Giraffe. Notice the little one snuggling up to mom.

At Dalkeith we stopped for a ‘car brekkie’ and watched this Martial eagle minding his own business.

Later on our way back to camp we came across a Bateleur that had just caught a rodent. We were fortunate, he did a fly past for us.

Later, we went for a late afternoon drive and between Sitzas and Craig Lockhart we spotted this Bateared Fox.
No cats today but we were just happy to be in our favourite park.
To be continued........
