Just arrived at Letaba unexpectedly - had booked Mopani but not enough time to get there. Hyena first sighting followed with ellie bulls buffalo black mamba and another snake (too dark to id) scrub hares and lots of little frogs. Very hot here but peaceful - great to be back.

CGF do NOT exist! Another fantastic day. Lots of Nyala and diverse other game. Highlight was a LOAH (LEOPARD ON AN ANTHILL!) on Mahonie Loop just before gate close. Spent most of the morning at Pafuri Picnic spot. Frank came running over as soon as he saw a yellow ribbon and spent some time showing us birds. Tiny ellies and vervets but most impalas still waiting for the rain.

Good start to the day - Lioness close to Babalala. Off to do Northern Plains Trail now to see the roan.

Wow! What a morning. Northern Plains delivered the goods! White Rhino, Ostrich ROAN and .........CGF (Crested Guineafowl) twice! Don't know what we've done to deserve all this!

She seems to be very lucky. Even a LOAH, looks like the Serengetti.
Frank came running over as soon as he saw a yellow ribbon and spent some time showing us birds.

LOL, we have made a very good friend there....
He has more yellow ribbons coming up this week, Madach & SO are scheduled to go birding with him for a whole day.
Arriving currently: The photos from our trip! Overhere! :yaya:

Sms recieved from Krok:

Quiet today so far although the birds down here at Red Rocks are amazing. Feels like rain is due today – desperately needed, its painfully dry.

Very quiet and overcast day today. Everything seems to be waiting for the rain. Best sightings today were lappet faced and white backed vultures on an impala carcass, mummy, daddy and baby tsessebe and aforementioned 5 lions in Shingwedzi River Bed (very full and sleepy). Going on night drive at 8 - special price of R65 as camp is so quiet.

No report in on the night-drive yet.

Eish, it's quiet here (animalwise, I mean.) School hols have apparently started and there are plenty of people in camp although it is still peaceful. Only sighting of note today was 7 lions on buffalo kill, but too obscured by bush to take photos. Tomorrow off to Tamboti for 3 nights. Getting wetter and greener as we move South - very pretty.

At Tamboti in lux safari tent - beautiful and enjoying rain, but does anyone know where we can order a take-out as it's too windy and wet to sit outside, let alone start a braai! Good general game viewing day - mainly standard stuff. Caught up with Bouf and husband at Satara. Hyenas on buffalo carcass this am near Mingerhout and Lions mating on Orpen Road this PM.

Nice day so far. Good general game sightings and another 2 cheetah on a kill. Just bumped into ChrisB and wife at Orpen and going on a bush braai with Bouf and Husband shortly.
