Dreamer: We were indeed at Nossob on 7 Dec!!! We were only there for the night before moving on to Grootkolk. My folks were in chalet 5a and I was camping......as to being in the park at same/similar times......see you next week......


so....

Mom and the babes approached the road.....and crossed over in front of us....









And with that we headed south back to Nossob for the night!!!

On the road south we came acrossa bat eared fox family near kannagauss...



and 2 very faaaaarrrrrr off cheetah just north of Leijersdraai.....

And just south of the picnic site.....there were eyes in the sky....



To be cont.....with Twee Rivieren

Ok....so from Grootkolk we headed back to Nossob for a night then onto Urikaruus for 2 nights - see prev pages.

After Urikaruus we headed down to Twee Rivieren for our last night in the park.....


The road down was very quiet. We booked into chalet 20 if I remember right......and its something I should remember as that night I woke up wandering why my mom was hitting me in the face.....only to figure out it was a bat whose wings were giving me a good smack!!!!!! My mom also woke up with her head in a pillow fullof bat Poop......not great

Anyway......that evening we headed up to Leeudril to inspect the new road. On the way......





He became very alert staring down the river valley.....and then he got up and walked off in a hurry......in the opposite direction. We had a good look down the river valley to see what scared him.......an ostrich????



Leeudril was quiet, but we enjoyed a sun downer and headed back to camp......for an interesting night!

The next morning we bought a permit to travel the Kij-Kij road.....so we set off early as we had to be out of the park and in Kimberley by 7pm. Things were pertty quiet until just after Rooiputs.....



The local pride that we have not seen in 2-3years, had made a gemsbok kill just north of Rooiputs!

There seemed to be a standoff happening between the pride members.....the ones up near the kill and then there was a young male and female that were closer to us. The ones near us would inch forward....then the ones near the kill would look up and the ones near us would back off. Eventually the ones near us walked off....





After a cup of coffee, we carrried on to Kij Kij where we turned around. Under the trees to the north of the waterhole......



On the way back down to Twee Rivieren.....more evidence that life (and death) has continued on the Kij Kij road despite the roadworks......





And then once again it reached that time in our trip when the gates loom ahead......I hate these times.......but we are usually already planning our next trip, which camps, what order, etc.....and that helps to lighten the moment!!
