Thank you all soooooo much! I do miss him, and he loved the park!

I really enjoyed my stay and without further ado:

Day one 23 Sep 2009:
I rose early drove to the bank and discovered that my money had not been paid in yet  ?
I phoned a friend who lent me some money for the toll gates and with little over a quarter tank of petrol I set of for Malelane. I had booked a night at a guest house and had no idea of how I was going to pay them?

I phone and asked if they would be willing to let me sleep and then pay them on the Friday from hazyview....and they agreed.

My petrol light came on just as I drove into Malelane. I had about R50 left after all the toll gates and put that into my car...Have to run will continue later.

Thanks everyone!

:hmz: Were was I....Oh yes I had put my last R50 in my car and thank heavens for the wild card. I entered at Malelane gate and drove up to Afsaal where I stopped for tea. I picked the furthermost table and sat my-bad-self 8) down. There were 2 squirals in the tree - the female playing very hard to get and the male working very hard trying to get lucky.

The first thing I saw was...not Impala but Buffalo and I spotted 3 white rhino, not too far from Malelane gate and they crossed the road behind me. ( :cam: photos still to come).

Took the H2-2 from afsaal to Pretorius Kop for obvious reasons, namely petrol  . Saw some elephants, Kudu and more buffalo and impala :D .

As I drove into the camp and the petrol light came on, unphased I checked in and found that my money was paid in .....
Oh have to run again sorry, will continue later.

Ok, so I grabbed a bite to eat at the cafeteria, Yummm! And after unpacking the car and filling with petrol, (most important) I took a drive to Shitlhave Dam and I just parked. Spotted a lone hippo and a Saddle billed stork ( Unfortunately not a :cam: opportunity). I returned to camp, and you must understand that this was my firstime ever in the park on me own. Every other visit over the course of me life was with my folks.

But I digress, back in camp I stared to build my fire. Two of my male neighbours were watching me like hawks  , one even offered me some extra firelighters. They were waiting with bated breath to see whether this woman on her own could make fire and braai her own meat. And I am not dissing the neighbours they were all very sweet and friendly. I just think the guys thought my fire would die on me - but it didn't! I sat down slowly sipping my Amarula as the sun set and watched my fire burn. When the coals were perfect I braaied my meat and enjoyed my meal  .

Ooops! don't want to get fired....more later!

Day 2: 25 Septemper 2009
Got up early and was out the gate dead on 6:00. I choose to go via the S7 to Phabeni gate as I had to go and pay some bills in Hazyview. I spent 4 hours in the Stranded Bank, well in truth one hour in a que to use the ATM and then 3 hours to get to a teller, eish! :wall:
Had a good couple of chats with some of the locals in the que with me. Oh and just to make things really sharp the aircon in the bank was not working :slap:

I raced back to Phabeni and drove along the S1...

No! :naughty:

I am a bit snowed under at work here...

Saw some "ouks" being turned away when I re-entered the park. Shame!

On me way out of the park I spotted another white rhino and he also crossed the road for me. he enjoyed his grazzing so much I acctually heard his lips smack.

On the S1 I spotted some more buffalo and some Kudu and elephant. I took S65 miss took some Agama's for dried pieces of wood?

I was wondering if anyone would respond to the "ouks" - Thanks
You know guys, like

Anyway thanks for the patience!

I also spotted some Warthogs on this road before I turned onto the H1-1 heading back to Pretoius kop. Oh and the Agamas - sadly no photo those things as quick!

I pulled in at Transport dam and saw 2 fish eagles, hippos, Giraffe, impala, Blue wildebeest and some Zebra's. Cool spot chill and I spotted some pied kingfishers. and there were some lapwings who were not to happy with the fish eagle - they were dive bombing him.

I did not see much from there to the camp - I was exhausted and I went to me hut and locked meself in and had a snooze

Must do ome work now - more later!
