"Ellie decided to havea 2am bath 5 meters from fence which we are butted up against. and boy did he was thoroughly, even behind his ears. He then had a midnight feast here and then decided to have a swim splashing loudly about. When the splashes hit our tent I encouraged my SO to evacuate with me as Punda is not exactly surrounded by an Armstrong fence and waited for Ellie to move off in the bird hide watching the stars and enjoying the many night sounds. We are too to walk the flycatcher trail."

Sounds like the monkeys have burgled their camp

DB says she'll sigh in later and tell us about it. Apparently the monkeys got into their rusks, etc.
They have also developed a love for anti-moz candles. Can just imagine that monkey's expresion taking a bite out of that candle :lol: ROFL

Hi from Punda fence as the sun sinks on a really hot day. Our stay here has been wonderful and thanks to all who posted sightings for me. Thanks for all the sympathy after the break ins and a 3rd attempt even at our home. After that and the monkey's constant attempts to steal everything from us in camp today, one would swear we were hiding the Kruger millions!

What cheeky and big stuff monkeys live here. They stop at nothing to interfer with ones food etc. One was even lounging on another camper's chair like a little king. Tip- if you going to camp here - put everything in a very well sealed container.

We also managed to flatten our car battery running our cooler off it all day. A kind fellow camper helped start it and it was while out driving to charge it and within a kilo from camp that we had our 2nd ever wilddog sighting. Exciting stuff!

What an asset Frank is to SANParks. More about him when I get home.

Freda was right - only about 6 campsites are occupied so the camp is really quiet. As Bert said - not much in the shop. We made use of the pool today to cool off. The water was refreshing. Camp is very dusty though especially if the wind blows.
