Just so everyone can see them, Avon is offline from the looks of it....

1) S100 LOG
Just scroll up a bit....

2) Bangu Ellie
Did you mean this one?

3) Tailless lion
Not the same one I saw I think. This one has more manes, or would they grow that much in about 16 months?

4) Hyena with babies
Why did you not include this one? Great shot!

Where did Avon film his Lion??

DQ, it's possibly your Lion. Mane could have grown that much in 16 months, it all depends on how old he was when you saw him. Mane size on a lion does not depict age. An 8 year old Lion can have absolutely no mane as well. What happens when they lose a territorial fight is they lose most of their mane and they look all scraggy. Theories are that it's also a sign for other females that this is a recently desposed male and then they won't mate with him either. It's been proved that females go for Lions with big manes. The thicker and darker the mane, the better.

Thanx for the private message's to help out.

The tailless lion were photographed on the tar road from Satara to Tshokwane (about halfway between the two) & NO - the Log were on the S100 on a small cement bridge just 2km off the tar road. Another one crossed moments later - will post evidence later.

Just to see if I now have the posting thing licked - here's Bangu dam in the winter mist. Also a sighting?
