Bert sent an sms yesterday!!!! (This means he has mastered the art of short message texting. Bravo!)

Bert saw a Knysna loerie yesterday and should have arrived in Kruger as we speak.

That's a very rough translation!

Lourens just posted that he met up with Dinkybird and Bert. Maybe Lourens will show him a lion or two.

Just in through the airwaves:

Seen at Berg en Dal: Leopard (so he does see cats!), white rhino, buffs and an ellie.
And lesser spotted forumites: Dinkybird & Hawk, Lourens and Deville.

Not a single mention of lions....

I have just had a chat with Bert - and guess what!! He saw more lion today! Not as close up as the last sighting, they were lying on the other side of the dam.

Bert and co are at Pretoriuskop this evening; sitting outside enjoying lovely weather. They also saw 3 rhino today at Shabeni Hill. Sounds like it was a good and close sighting. And to top it all, he saw two cheetah!

I can report one very happy sounding Bert! But then such a great musketeer deserves a great time in Kruger!

Received an sms from our musketeer in the Park...

Today was ellie day on fay loop surrounded by breeding herd of at least 30.

So pleased for them - yesterday bert was worried as he had not had good ellie sightings yet!

A pity in a way... I can remember posting all kinds of recipes for the best way to cook a shoe. A forumite who shall not be named, but did not post here yet had promised to eat his shoes if Bert did not see lions the last trip. It came very, very near....

But 8) 8) 8) that all our recognitionlessons worked!
