You are going through a difficult time and just want you to know that we are thinking about you and your loved ones.

Got back home yesterday.....felt as if I had been away a lot longer than 2 weeks! Caravan was OK, and car too. Also had a nice welcome back from folk here.

Last night heard ellies about but just needed to get to bed early.....and they are about again tonight, but too cold to go out and see where they are. At least they make me know I am home!

Tomorrow back to Skukuza for 2 days to help with shooting practice and assessments.....

Sightings have been a bit thin since my return, but then I have been busy..... Ellies around camp again, then on my trip up to Skukuza mostly impies, a couple of giraffes, zebs, big group of kudus, ellies. Heard hyenas around the Vet Camp but saw none. Yesterday morning 3 ground hornbills visited us on the shooting range for a short while too.

I am not going to talk about the shooting....... :(

Today I went through to BnD for a meeting......the bush is getting dry so quickly now.

This evening I went round camp to let people know why there was no hot water, and ended up chatting with a few folk. Then a short while ago......lion roaring very close, probably in the triangle of bush between the fence next to my caravan and the road round to the staff quarters. Guests came over to the area.....and we eventually located the lion up the road crossing over to the east. Another could be heard roaring below camp towards the river.

Ended up with an impromptu talk about lions and lion behaviour etc, and then with those who lingered all sorts of other topics including water and fire policy, and why the rare antelopes are rare, etc. Despite feeling thick-headed with a cold, I enjoyed the interaction and chats. Now time for a hot drink and bed.

Hi EJ and welcome home

Sorry to hear that you are not feeling well bur great to hear that those who lingered after the Lion incident went away with "food for thought" -- well done

Get well soon and i am looking forward to all the information you are going to feed us who are far away from the Park

Sleep well

Sometimes those impromptu chats can make a deep impression on all involved.
