We started off our weekend with 2 nights at Skukuza (6th and 7th). I don't recall ever seeing the bush so thick and green. Found it very difficult to see much game, but saw the usual:
Waterbuck
Bushbuck
Elephant
Buffalo (very old)
Impala
Baboon
Vervets
Crocs
Tortoises
Hippo
etc
On Saturday we made our way up to Tshokwane for breakfast and then back down to Skukuza via Lower Sabie. Again, a pretty quiet day. General game and many beautiful birds. I would say today was actually our most exciting day because of one monster of an elephant. He was very relaxed while blocking the whole road. we happened to be the lucky

ones right in front of about 10 other vehicles. well, what happens, dumbo decides to swing around and starts walking our direction. There was no way of reversing, so all my family in the car decided it would be a great time to play 'statues'. i have never seen any humans sit so still in all my life

.the ele was in fact a arms length from my window, so it was pretty nerve wrecking considering his size.
Anyway, we ended off our lovely day with a 30min relaxation period (needed) at panic bird hide. WOW. so many beautiful birds:
Great Egret
Many Pied kingfishers
Green backed heron
Blacksmith Lapwings
Lilac breasted roller
Purple crested Turaco's
African jacana
Darter
etc
on Sunday we made our way down to Berg en dal via Lower Sabie and Croc Bridge. it was a wonderful day. saw ele's, Buffalo, Cheetah, Lion and many general game, including that of a lovely warthog and waterbuck family:
My most favourite sighting this day however was that of the many many white fronted bee-eaters we saw nesting in the river bed. Amazing.
All in all i would say we had a lovely Easter weekend at the Kruger National Park
