Just to let you know that myself and friend Chris have just returned to the UK after astonishingly good game viewing during our 8 night trip. Many thanks to all who helped me plan beforehand.

Being a veteran of previous trips to Kruger, Hwange, the Ngorongoro, Serengeti, Ruaha and Masai Mara I was amazed by the number and quality of sightings we had, and will endeavour to present an entertaining trip report in the near future.

We spent 4 nights at Berg en Dal, 2 at Satara and 2 at Talamati, putting in a lot of effort with some days with a full 13 hours on the road, barring food breaks.

Wildlife viewing ambitions have been achieved beyond expectation, captured well on my new digi camera and video. We saw 12 cats of 4 different species - but only one individual of a species I expected to encounter by the hundred! But what was it..?

The 1 member of a species I expected to see lots and lots of isn't a cat... I was expecting to see hordes of these.

After such a great time and the long journey back it's hard being in the office again. Where's the :lotsocoffee:

And if genets count as cats then we saw 15 of 5 species! :D

Mongooses? I have seen families of especially dwarf mongooses, and maybe the wrong name was used?

Pangolin are seen in hordes (when asleep).
