Onwards to Afsaal and a brunch, no Leopard intrusion thankfully but the Scops Owl in his normal tree.

Biyamiti Weir, a wonderful place to stop and observe this beautiful Malachite Kingfisher.

These Water Monitors were busy trying to catch a Barbel that had become trapped in a mud puddle.

A Hamerkop surveying the scene.

Forgive me another Kingfisher pic, love these little birds!

A group of Water Dikkops or Thick knees.

And a lovely water lily to complete the scene.

22nd Feb.

Lake Panic Road.

A few pics taken on our first visit to the Boardwalk at Skukuza Nursery.

Then on to Lake Panic which was devoid of any animals and very few birds. But still always something to be seen.

ImageImage

A familiar sight now.

Image

This little frog was hiding deep down in one of the leaves of the reeds growing up against the hide. It did seem to have orange legs seen when it did a mighty hop.

Friday 23rd Feb.

Today is the day I had to leave the park, made so much more difficult because of knowing that in a few hours time so many forumites would be arriving for the cricket weekend.
Anyway, such is life.

We left driving along the H11, and down towards Croc Bridge with heavily overcast skies and intermittant showers of rain, which made the bush smell so wonderful. :D

This pride of Lions were lying on the other side of the river and seen from the H4-1.

Image

Then the one female got up and lay down on the other side of the rocks to feed the cutest little cubs.

Image

Finally our last sight as we crossed the bridge out of the park.

Image

So ended another wonderful time in Kruger but thank goodness I will be back in a few months time after our exciting overseas trip and forum meet in London. :D
