SMS from DB at 11h30 this morning:
Hi Mark! At Addo. Staff friendly. Booked in and going for a drive now. Nice and hot here. Looking forward to the meet. This is a special place!

Glad she's arrived safely. She's so lucky
Hope she enjoys the meet & has great sightings. :)

Our main purpose for visiting Addo was to attend the Eastern Cape Mini Meet.

We spent two nights in Addo. On the Sunday we decided to set off on the Addo 4x4 trail. I will post a seperate report on this and link it.

This time I have decided to let my pics to the talking.... :D

First thing we did was rush off to check out the new underground bird hide:

I spent ages trying to get some good shots of the busy little Red Bishops at the bird hide in the main camp. These little fellows do not sit still for a split second. The are frantically building nests, chasing other males and of course....running after the ladies!

We spent very little time in the main game area - but we still saw a lot. Zebs, red hartebeest, kudu, warthog, ostrich, bb jackal, ellies, loads of birds and these two:

This time we gave camping a miss - and for a change I was not sorry. Our cottage was really comfy, private and with a lovely view. I could sleep with the french doors open...that is until there was a noise in the dead of night - a bat flying around inside. That was it my SO said, door got closed (after the bat left)
