Just about ready to pack the car then we are on our way. We should get to Melalane early this afternoon. We are going to take it easy driving up..its all part of our KP experience! Will sms Mark when we get to the gate.

Hi mark.. We are at melalane gate! the park must be full cos the gate is closed and we have to show the permit to get in.


Relaxing at our cottage in berg en dal. Sitting on the patio watching the brown headed parrots. 2 minutes into the parks a herd of at least 50 elephants. The sightings board has been upgraded and there is lots of renovations going on. Speak to you after our 4pm drive. Kathy x

Hi mark, had a quiet drive. Walked along the rhino trail. There was an elephant, waterbuck and nyala. A family of egyptian geese - tiny babies, 2 Giant kingfishers. Our braai is lit,. can you smell the KP wood burning ?!! rump steak tonight!

Hi mark.. It has been very hot today - 38 degrees so read my book this afternoon. Went along to the waterhole saw 2 rhino and a dagga boy. Along the S110 Saw more rhino. Elephant and a herd of buffalo. A good days spotting. We are having ribs on the braii Tonight.. Kathy x


We went to see Stephen Nel today but he is on leave this week. off to Biyamiti tomorrow.


That is HOT!

We are relaxing at Biyamiti watching a herd of Buffalo opposite our patio! number 6 ofcourse! Saw a beautiful Leopard this morning and to many rhino to keep count. 2 very cheeky elephants and we had to move on very quickly!! We are missing lions though but hope to see some on the night drive...Kathy x

Got back too late last night to sms. 2 Lions on night drive. So we saw big 5 yesterday!! This morning: 200 elephants in 2 kilometres!! Lots of giraffe kudu more ellies and general game. Making an oxtail potje for dinner.. Kathy x


In buffalo jam at this moment!!!

So happy for that she has now ticked off the Big 5 :)

Just In! :
Hi mark, sitting outside our cottage at Croc Bridge watching elephant and buffalo. today we saw a leopard in a tree on the S25. We saw huge herds of elephant and buffalo and another 5 rhino. Plenty of game around. Kathy x

We are home...aaaaah.

Have left the park. Not a nice feeling crossing the crocodile river back to civilisation. On our last drive which was from Croc. bridge to melalane along the S25 we saw, hyena, a rhino with a tiny baby and more elephant! Speak to you later, Kathy x
