We'd like to welcome coz, all the way from the USA who has joined the ranks of the VHRs as an applicant; and also micromammal who has transferred to the region from Lowveld following a move away from the area.

Yes BB, applicants are members, but with limited capabilities............eg can't vote at committee meetings.

Hi, no an applicant is precisely that. They are applying to become a member and are not yet a member. Approved applicants are however allowed to participate in some of our membership activities.

Bear in mind that many of our activities are actually open for all members of the public to support. The SHR movement is about enabling the public to support the SANParks cause.

BB you are most welcome to participate where you can. :thumbs_up:

Hi NetEk - (and this is for BB too :D )

Here is the criteria for joining the SANParks VHRs - if you have any questions, please PM me, I can even give you my tele number.

We welcome anyone who will make a meaningful contribution to the SANParks Honorary Rangers (SHR) and to SANParks. In the case of the VHRs, it needs to include the fact that our 'region' is the Forums/website. The contribution does not need to be 'doing 100 hours of duty a month', if you have something to offer that will assist the SHRs in their aims, we welcome you.

Edit:- we need all kinds of skills, and do not be put off by the courses.
