Can anyone help with ID of this tree, seen along the Limpopo in Mapungubwe in October 2014.

Looks to me like one of the figs.....?
Smiling is contagious. Start an epidemic today!

Have you read the entrance permit? Do you KNOW the Conditions of Entry?

Completed over 6 years in Kruger in my caravan.

Really need to see closer pic of the leaves and fruit...... there are several it could be. But maybe somebody has been there and recognises it!

Possibly Sycamore Fig, those clumps of small "branches" are the stems for the fruit which grows any time of year.

arks, I would say it's a Common Star Chestnut :hmz: perhaps.
Not 100% sure - maybe someone else could confirm.

Thanks Rosemary :gflower: I googled a bit and I think that you are 100% correct. There are no pix of those very distinctive pods in my tree book, so no wonder I couldn't ID it :roll:
