We have Big Five Mammals, Small Five animals, Big 6 Birds etc. How about constructing a Big Five Tree List :?:
My list would look like this
1 - Baobab
2 - Jackalberry
3 - Sausage Tree
4 - Sycamore Fig
5 - Fever Tree

What are your suggestions....

Have to show loyalty to my tree
If I had my choice it would be top of the list, but the baobab is a bit bigger - he might just bust my trunk for me :P

Geeze this could be tougher than i thought... also the knob thorn or Tamboti? Even the Terminalia's ("vaalbome" with their silver leaves) specially around Pretoriuskop...

Leadwood Tree

Although there is a lot of these i don't really feel is typical KNP trees... when i see them i don't immediately think...KNP!

Red Bushwillow
Common Coral Tree (although beautiful you get them all over)
Transvaal Mustard Tree
Lala Palm (not really a tree in my books)
Raisin Bush
Round-leafed Teak

lets see the definites then:
fevertree - automatically, no reason needed
baobab, jackalberry and nyala tree because of their size and then maybe sausage tree because it has the largest fruit of any tree or maybe marula because it is so important in the ecology of the park.
This is not so easy after all.....

Knob Thorn
Leadwood
