Have never seen a single one, but have spoken to people that sighted them around Pretoriuskop. Maybe next time!

Yup, saw one last November on the Northern Plains 4x4 trail. In the company of - believe it or not - a roan! They were near the Roan Project enclosure, but on the "wild side" of it.

Pics have been posted more than once in various other (antelope) threads, so I am not going to repeat myself here.

Mark,
We saw a 2 of these guys on the H1-6 ( -20km) just north of Letaba, we saw them every morning for three days. They probably don't move around alot, maybe because the area was so green and full of vegetation.

Do anybody know if they spread natuarally through-out the park over time, or were they distributed to a few areas?

In other words, do a specific herd keep to a certain area or not?

Christo.

There are only 2 herds in Kruger.

- South of Pretoriuskop H2-2 Area
- South of Punda Maria Area.

I had friends over from the UK and took them to the Kruger for a flying visit on 2 September.
Although We did see the big 5, this rare antelope was the highlight of my trip.
Seen about 12 km from Pretoriuskop on the H1-1 to Skukuza.

Great sighting Sharifa, how many were there in the herd?
Great that you could show your friends the big 5 and the L Hartebeeste. :D

I saw a solitary one close to P/kop in June last year. No pics though, it was off before I could even try and zoom.

Nice pic LaeveldLeeu!
