Wow guys, this Kudu pics have some great trophies!
Must tell you Nico, your video is awesome..love the elements like the wind blowing all the time...and the Kudu are peaceful...gr8!

This is from our AAA trip. It was rather a large herd of young males. I had never seen such a big group of males together. Unfortunately it was not possible to get the ideal shot, but I did manage to get this.

Nice shot MM! :thumbs_up: I dont think they are often found in large herds :hmz: biggest i have seen was on the oliphants river bank, with about 6 bulls

The white tips indicate age.

All kudus genetically have white tips on the tips of their horns. However, the younger the kudu the faster the growth of its horns. Old bulls wear down their horns faster than they can grow, so the white tips disappear. These white tips are very prominent until the age of 7, when they tend to dull.

This bull was photographed on the S90,near the marsh, which is not perfect Kudu habitat as it is very open grasslands with only occassional bushes (which can be seen in the background). This picture was taken in Nov 2006. I did subsequently see him again in Nov 2007 and January 2008 all on the S90.

In Sept 2009 I am sure I came across one of his offspring on the S90. If this young bull can survive the next couple of years I am sure he will impressive horns like his father.
