I came across this guy not far from Phalaborwa on Saturday afternoon.. both his tusks seem to be broken off. Can anybody identify him.

Sorry to say but no its not him Robbie.His broken tusks are much thicker.

Phalaborwa also sounds too far from Duke's usual hangout to me. He is most often seen between the Gomondwane loop south of Lower Sabie and Tshokwane.

Robbie, I saw this one one Sunday. A lot smaller than Duke!

One question, why don't you contact the locals when you are here???

Who should I have contacted? Which locals.. I hardly know anyone on the forum, was seriously taken to task when I voiced my opinion about some ancient rules so tread very lightly these days..

What I like to say is , if you are not sure , just post and like you see you will get a reply. I rather see people posting and asking then ignoring and may be not posting something what can be interesting , so well done

Duke now has a radio collar so he can be easily identified by the collar, and he can be kept track of too.

Duke has a collar nowadays. And he does not travel to Phalaborwa ... too much style!
