Great pics Joekin. I've never seen sable in KNP, and i've been there allot.

Since 2006...
Rheedbok - 4 on H10, 2 near Kumana dam, 3 4km North of Satara, 1 at Nshawu no. 3.
Sharpe - 1 on Nyalaroad, 2 on Mahonie loop, 1 on Mphongolo loop, 1 on Red Rocks loop, 1 near Kanniedood dam, 2 on S47
Eland - +- 10 North of Babalala
Tsessebe - Many North of Mopani, 3 near P. Kop
Lichtensteine - None
Sable - None

If anyone have a photo of a REAL Suni in KNP can you please post it in this thread.

Thanks again for everyones contribution..

Lichtenstein's I've only seen once ever in the KNP, years ago. A single individual that had joined a herd of Impala on Napi Road near PK.

The Makuleke CNP (Pafuri) has good herds of (skittish) Eland, some sable, and the very occasional Roan visiting from Uncle Bob's utopia.

Eland generally in the north, but I've also seen large herds near and on Skipberg.

Suni are rumored to occur along the Luvuvhu, but I have never seen one, nor have any of the professional guides at Pafuri Camp.

There's a good herd of Sable in the Mutlumuvi concession (Rooigras Vlakte), and they are not uncommonly encountered in the Manzimhlope/Ripape/Vutomi area (and elsewhere, as mentioned by other posters)

Reedbuck are surprisingly plentiful along certain sections of the Mlondozi River (H10), but equally surprisingly hard to see. Also common in the sourveld around PK, most easily seen on night drives.

MM, I remember a number of Suni were captured in KZN and released in the Punda Maria area during the mid-80`s. The occasional sighting was reported for a short time thereafter but eventually nothing - not the ideal habitat. I too, have wandered about their status.
Same goes for Oribi - captured in the Badplaas area sometime during the late 80`s, I think, and released in the Malelane/Pretoriuskop area. No reports that I know of.
