What's wrong with these guys?!?!? Don't they realise those tusks are sacred and that they, as members of the New Emerging Tusker Association have been chosen to carry and display these tusks, but above all to protect them? SHEESH

We were also lucky enough to see him on Tuesday 17 March out on the road between the camp and the bridge not far from camp. We were very excited in spite of the broken tusk! Took lots of photos but must still work out how to post them. Have his tusks always been that colour or had he been digging in the mud?

Come now Scipio.... can't just say there are bigger ele's and not give us names!! Leave us guessing like that!!! :hmz:

I saw Tsotsi around Letaba in June 2008 and Hlanganini in the Oliphants river bed about the same time. Was my first meeting and he definatly made an impression on me!! WOW he is really special. I never got to see Duke so I'll never be able to compare the two but Hlanganini is impresive!!! (even with a chip in his image!)

These pics also taken on 16 March 2009:

Scipio - this is an unsharp pic, but such a similar stance to the one you posted, I thought to post it to show the difference in Hlanganini's tusk.

And in this one, he is facing the opposite direction, showing his right tusk

Hiya DB Saw 3 Majorly Big boys this weekend, trying to ID them now. I would like to see those two pics side by side if your powers allow. Very interesting.
