I have read in today's beeld that Alexander, one of the big tuskers at the moment in the KNP, has died.

They believe it was due to a heartattack, about 2 km from Mopanie camp.

Can someone put us a link to press releases, and maybe Sanparks will give us some more info?

I came out of Kruger yesterday afternoon and took pics where at least 120+ vultures, maraboes, yellow billed Kite, etc. was around it. They opened up the carcass to remove the heart and lungs.

As soon as I get time I will post some of these pics!

It was sad that I never saw Alexander alive :cry:

I was told yesterday by a Park Official that he was 50 years old.

Even though it was sad to see Alexander dead...I must say the activity around the carcass was amazing! I even found a tagged vulture.

Was this perhaps Alexander ? Taken early January 2009 very close to Tsendze camp .
