I saw one in the middle of june on the H15 (H1-6 to Giriyondo road) very near the Malopenyana waterhole.
Numbers? Lasts year's census is not out yet as far as I know.

I've seen two herds near Mopani, right next to the road. Unfortunatly as it goes, we had forgotten the camera at camp. :wall: The sighting was nonetheless exellent.

Thanks Richprins, there were 2 adults and one youngster as in my last pic.
It was such a thrill to see them, the first I have ever seen in Kruger, seen plenty in one of the KZN reserves. :D

We saw a female and three quarter grown calf at Shiltlhava dam near Pretoriuskop last year. they stayed at the water's edge for a good half hour, remaining well clear of the gargantuan crocodile that had beached itself on the water's edge.

from what I read the census for 2006 stated there are 160 left in the kruger park...which makes them rarer then wild dogs :D

we, too saw that herd near mopani a few days ago...also had a single sighting in 2005...

one tour guide claimed they were the fastest anteloppes there are...is that true?

Yes it is true.
