To me it seems that the Hippo population in the Kruger Park has increased significantly in recent years?
Every puddle seems to have a healthy population.

And some dams seem to have more than a healthy population. :)
For eg in Mlondozi Dam there were quite a few and they were almost constantly bickering with each other. Maybe due to a shortage of space? The Dam wasn't at its fullest and they were all at the deepest part by the dam wall.

Yoda agree with you. Think with all the rain over the past few years all the dams are full.
