I recently saw a photo of a Giraffe lying in the waterhole at Orpen. This was posted on the Webcam forums. Is this normal behaviour for a giraffe? Does it not increase its risk to be taken down by a predator?

Jock I suppose that is possible, but for me the animal looks way to relaxed in the water!! That is why I am wondering if this is normal behaviour?? :hmz:

Giraffe do lie down to rest.

I will post a pic as soon as I find it of one snoozing on our last trip.
