Many thanks to all the latest responders. We do appreciate your comments.

All credit for the photos must go to my wife Joan for keeping her cool.

Hi fee. Yip I have been rather quiet for a long time but have never missed our annual trip to Kruger. This year must rank as our best with all the different unusual sightings we had.

No, I am no longer involved in those steam train journeys.

Many thanks for sharing this experience steamtrainfan and Joan. So lucky to pre-empt what happened and get all the photos from start to finish.

We were also really privileged to see a crocodile make a kill in 2011. It was the trip we made with our grandson, Sam, and we were sat alongside Sunset Dam enjoying hot chocolate and coffee. Suddenly Sam called out: 'Nana, Nana, the crocodile has just killed an impala.' The whole sight was utterly mesmerising. Together with a leopard and its kill, these were the 2 highlights of Sam's trip and he is still talking about it. I promise he is not really a gruesome child....and he does want to go on to forensic science!! The following trip we watched a croc at Lake Panic creep up to the bank and grab a duck. There had been 3 ducks stood along the bank and it was the middle bird which was grabbed by the croc. It all happened so fast that the remaining 2 ducks just looked at one another and you could almost imagine one saying to the other 'What happened there then?'

Hi carolv. So nice to chat again. You certainly had some lovely croc sightings. I can just imagine those ducks standing with a quizzical expression on their faces.
