That was some jump. But the guy hanging out of the window of the SUV with a camara was taking a chance - he may have been the cheetah's next meal. :naughty:

Thanks for posting that, Ice

I saw the series of pictures in the Star newspaper. I hoped that some one would know how to share it.

If I heard this story around the camp fire, I would most definitely have thought that some one had taken in too much of the amber liquid.

Can you imagine the tale.

""Ja, there I was with my camera taking a photo of cheetahs chasing an impala and the impala jumped right through this oke's passenger window"".

Yeah, right, have another doppie Koos.

I found this to be an amazing story! Lion Queen has sent me the link on Friday already, and it was on the Beeld's front page yesterday! A fantastic story and experience! :D

A unique sighting and agree with Zapman about focusing on the actual sighting.

I saw this on article on Friday but decided against posting it because of the guy leaning out of the window simply because so many of you would focus on him and not the rarity of the sighting.

According to "Die Burger" dated Saturday 6th July it was taken in the Kruger near to Nkulu, and I am sorry but although it was a rare and wonderful sighting I will focus on the idiot hanging out the window, and all the idiots that hang out of windows when the rules state that they must not do it.

Are you all sure that this is true? Such a nice sequence of photos except for the photo showing the impala exiting the vehicle through the opened door?

mmmmm, I smell a rat. :hmz:

It's a wonder the people in the back of the car where the impala seemed to jump in, weren't injured, it's quite a big buck to share a back seat with

I just hope none of the animals were too hurt by their collisions with vehicles

Hi A-M :yaya:

I think it's just the speed at which everything happens... his concentration seems to be on photographing the cheetah on the road, and so it's only as the video crosses over the car window pillar that he seems to realise something is in his car. Even if he heard the noise you wouldn't expect him to turn immediately - and inside your car probably isn't the first place you're going to look either

well, why not... but takes a lot of place, an Impala inside the car... and could disturb a little bit

This has had a lot of media coverage but our guy leaning out of the window is breaking a rule - he should be fined

As much as this is a incredibly rare event it doesn't excuse the guy hanging out the window and what surprises me is that SANParks is giving this a lot of media coverage on facebook and else where. For a video showing clear rule breaking this is very odd.
I would like a response form SANParks as to why they are using videos of rule breaking to advertise the park without any comment to it.
