I have tried to find out via the forum a few bits about this site.. I know I have to book at Punda but
(1) how much ??
(2) is it advisable to book in advance
(3) is there a minimum number of peeps who must book before the trail will go .
And of course any other advice would be great

Thank you Thobeka,
We will be staying in Punda for three nights and I am sure the SO will enjoy being driven for a change !
We will make a booking before we leave home and then confirm it when we arrive in Punda We are doing the Nyalaland Trail on the 31 st August and then Punda for three nights after that . Now this is something special and we look forward to going.

Hi Hugh
I am extremely envious!  It was one of our highlights on our Kruger trip last year. It is truly a special place. Even f the guides are not highly briefed on the history I found a reasonable amount of info on the history in the Getaway guide to the Kruger National Park. I f you wish to pm me I can scan and mail the relevant pages to you.
The walk itself is not at all taxing but just to be among the ancient boababs and ruins is very very special. We didn't book ahead because when we called Punda they said no worries we could book when we got there. We also drove up with the guides.
A little appetises

I am trying to make a booking for the Thulamela Tour for December - I have emailed the Duty manager at Punda (Themba) but I get no reply. Don't really want to call from overseas as it is expensive - anyone have another email address or contact persson I can try get in touch with to make my booking.
Thanks

Hello all. See letter from Thobeka dated 17th May. Lesego We were in Punda in September and we specially booked three nights there so we could go on the tour. When we arrived to book in for the wilderness trail we asked to book for the tour .. and shoulders were shrugged and total disinterest shown .. There is no tour .. and asked when it would be .. We dont know . Hasn't been one for a while...BUT on the outside notice board were all the particulars for the tour . Why advertise if there is no tour. But Chris of the wilderness trails heard me and while on the trail he took us to another historical site which was magic . Please check and see if they have a guide to take the tour and that it is actually going . We were so diappointed especially after being given all the information. Now that we are retired there is very little chance of us ever going to Punda again.
I just feel sorry for overseas folk who have read all about it and get there to be disappointed .

Bushbaby 30 did you say there will be a tour ??? or did you forget the not. I did tell her that she should remove the notice and maybe she did add something... I was most polite all the time though inside i was very very disappointed .
