We saw a lot of tracks of leopards last may around Pafuri camp and we saw one male by Luvuvhu river at dawn. We've been told leopard sightings are not no so difficult in this area

During the night we could listen to 2 lions. So big cats are also in this part !
We were very lucky also to spot a Pel's fishing- owl one evening.
I know it's very difficult to see this bird.Lucky day ! (and very good guide in fact, the famous Brian).
The day after we met a huge black mamba on a morning walk. You don't feel very comfortable when meeting this long snake during a walk. But he was not really interested by us.

I really love this Pafuri region area maybe not very productive as Grantmissy wrote but still so wild and unspoilt.
And people you meet around there seem also to be different ! Far from the crowded South...

I am glad that some of us see Wild Dog in that area. We once saw them on the Mahonie loop some years back but I think we were just very lucky as I do not think it is a common sighting.

Has anyone been to this area recently? How are the sightings after the January 2013 rains?

Yeah, I was in the Makuleke CNP March 1 - 11. When I find a minute I shall post a report here.
