Threedogs, a very good investment is to get a Robert Bird Guide. I've a KNP specific one. It wasn't very expensive and it comes in very handy. It's pocket size so it doens't take up a lot of space. :http://www.amazon.co.uk/Roberts-Bird-Guide-National-Adjacent/dp/1770096388

Slightly larger, but also worth the investment

I'll add another to the wish list:

Striped Polecat.

Think it'll be a bit a stretch to see, but we can dream can't we.

A close up picture of a pygmy kingfisher
An Aardfark (think thats how you spell it)

(never seen a Pel's fishing owl, or an Aardfark)

What I would dearly like to see again (have not seen for a decade or more)

Black Rhino
Eland
Suni (just in case you thought it was just the big stuff I was after....)

For a long time the Sable Antelope were also m.i.a, but over the past few years I have had some good sightings.

I hope to one day see Sable again when they introduce it back into KNP. Also a Pels Fishing Owl and Narina Trogon :)

Hi Wild@Heart,

I've seen all three of those that you want to see. Not to brag or anything. :)

Wild@Heart, you post as if you know that Sable is no longer found in KNP! I was under the imppression that they are still to be found, having seen one at the waterhole just North of Thsokwane about 2 years back.

All this 'lovely' spreadsheet work is making me long for that sunset in KNP, the smell of the braai fire and the taste of a cold beer!
