Hi everyone we are still trying to get to the KNP but first some issues and work before we can go, we applied for our wild card got the email got the conformation but the money stayed in the bank and the card never arrived so I called and asked why, the guy that helped me said maybe I was lucky and the money was never taken off because it shows paid at his side (I don't want lucky I want to pay) again we waited money never left the bank, Now we got a email saying that the card was canceled (we never got it) ok so what now I mailed and asked if I could pay the money into a bank account they said they don't have 1 but that I could just go to the park and buy my card there, so as I see it we arrive at the Kruger go to a office at a camp and buy a new card or are we supposed to take the card with that we never received? and is the price of the wild card going to be the same as when bought on the website?

As far as I know, price is the same and you will have a temp card at park and plastic one posted. You will still receive all benefits of wild card with temp one.

Having just tried to renew mine, at KNP, I have a print out of confirmation I paid with ID & card number etc plus the old card which got me in fine today.

Allegedly the new cards will be posted in January - why then, when I had an email 2 months ago saying I needed to swap my old card for a new one ?!?

All seems a bit complicated...

Simply pay at the gate and get your temporary card there.

The new card will be personalized and sent via post.

Remember that due to problems with the outdated and incomplete data, SANParks could not yet start sending out the new cards. Until such a time as they start sending out these cards, your confirmation letter will be sufficient.

As mentioned here and other threads on the new WILD card the new cards are suppose to be sent out in January. Can the approximate date that this will take place maybe be given. We are leaving for some SANParks in 3 weeks time and I would like to know if the card will be here by then

Thanks for your. No, the Wild Cards will not have been issued by your next visit and please take along your Wild Card number and also identification for all on the card as this could be requested.

I tried to update my Wildcard details on the computer, but it didn't work. So, in November, I phoned the number and eventually got hold of someone and updated all the details. I was assured that I would receive confirmation that I had done the update - still waiting. We are going to KNP at the end of January - will my current Wildcard (renewed in June) still be OK?

I have purchased a new wild card on the 20/10/2010 for the amount of R 1.310 (already debited)
I have received a confirmation letter (by E-mail)... valid until 31 Decembre 2010
Till now, I havn't received the new wildcard... and I'm leaving in one month to Kgalagadi

What can I do ? with a temporary proof of purchase valid till 31.12.2010
and without a newcard wildcard

Many thanks for query and my apology for the delay in issuing the new Wild Cards. We are progressing well in cleaning up the database but are still not in a position where we feel comfortable that we have everything and we thus indicated that existing Wild Cards will continue to be accepted after 31 December 2010 and this applies to all who have bought new Wild Cards from 20 October 2010 and subsequently. Please therefore take your Wild card number together with the letter that you have received, take your identity document or passport along and you will be provided access to relevant parks.

PS don't send the new wild card... I'll be in South Africa till end of May
maybe you could send one in Kruger, in one of the camps I will be, since March.... (for exemple at Skukuza for the cricket)

@anne-marie: good idea to take a copy of Joeps message with you. I will keep that in mind when i am leaving for KNP in April.

If there are still problems to issue the new wild card what about the wild card magazin? As a part of the new wild card system the magazin should be delievered to the wild card holders. But does that work?

I am glad you mentioned the Wild Magazine. I obtained 1 at the Sanparks HO in Pretoria the beginning of December. It was also available in a satelite office in the east of Pretoria 2 weeks ago.

However, during our stay in the KNP the 3rd week of December, I was told at various gate offices that they had not received the Summer edition of Wild.

I also did not reveive anything through the post.

I have been driving in and out of the park with only my confirmation letter to show.
No hickups whatsoever there.
It is known throughout the parks that the cards have not been send yet and they all accept the letter as confirmation that you have bought a wildcard.
