poe28: KRUGER PARK CALL

It calls - the purse strings are tied too tight

And then it comes to me in the quietness of the night!

I MUST find a way

I cannot stay away another day!

I will scrimp and scrape - whatever it may take

To fulfil that longing a reality to make.

The day finally dawns

Amidst foggy head and many yawns

Off we go - the calling is now very strong

The road flees by - 7 hours is not that long!

Now we are at the gate

And of course the queues I love to hate

For I am back - in the place my soul belongs

Never mind crowded roads and all the throngs

My heart is singing with joy

And the truth is I will use any ploy

To spend every waking hour of the day

Watching the Kruger Park’s animals at play!

Then when the day is done

How quickly did those hours run

And contented sleep takes over

And I snuggle beneath the cover

My first prayer is to say thank you Lord above

For providing me with the kind of day I love!

The days pass in a whirlwind hurry

And before we know - we cannot tarry

Another trip is under wraps

BUT perhaps.............

It will not be long for the plotting and scheming

To allow for more dreaming

About that place which has the effect

Of making my life so replete and perfect!

Thank you Lord for this wonderful place

And all animals and people who a part of it grace!

It is because of this beautific place

That I will every working hour face.

Until I can return to my beloved Kruger Park

My days are long and dismal and dark!
