poe24: Dedicated to Nossob: "I' m coming"

The Kalahari wind will fill my steps
As I wander into the night
And the bright stars will guide me on
As I escape the city light
The distant roar of lion will lend its signature to the dark
And I have to
I have to get back to the Park.

The memory will urge me on my journey
Through the year I have to wait
I'll plan and pack a thousand times
Before I stop at the gate
I'll dream of the beauty - so vast, so stark-
And I have to
I have to get back to the Park.

There's a fire to be made
Under that camelthorn tree
A late-night flame
To rekindle what used to be
I'll be at peace again, hear the zebra's bark
I know: I have to
I have to get back to the Park.

To live in the city, so far removed from hope
Is to indulge in self-pity - unable to cope
With the rush and the struggle, the senseless race
To everlasting trouble at a life-sapping pace
And then I know: I have to
I have to get back to the Park.

So wait for me under that camelthorn tree
And get last year's embers burning
Let the sands on last year's footsteps
Uncover my returning
And when you see the dust rise above the plain
You'll know that I'm on my way again.:Letaba Indaba
