poe16:NIGHT SOUNDINGS

Sound owns the night
Audio is queen.
Sitting tall, at rest,
feet bare, eyes veiled,
aware in every cell and pore
of all Nature around me.

Offstage left, a hundred frogs burble
In front, gentle percussion of dry combretum pods,
swishing of dry winter grasses.
The breeze rustling leaves and seeds
Soft passage of nocturnal creatures

A great listening is a-happening
All around
And peacefully
