poe10:The Eight Mindsets of the Human Condition

One

I am.
I am human.
I am an intelligent, living, aware,
Thinking human being.
I am San. I am Strandlooper.
I am Hunter. I am Gatherer
I am Cave Drawer.
I know.

Two

I am San, your grandfather.
With your grandmother and kin we became tribe.
I am Zulu, Pedi, Afghani and Kurd.
I am also Amerind.
And I know.

Three

I am now grown to be tribe-knower.
I protect many tribes
For women, cattle, gold.
I am warlord, Milesovich, Bin Laden.
And I know.

Four

I am Great Britain's invention:
Bureaucrat.
I subject warlords to my rules.
I teach them, bring them into line.
I am mightier than warlords:
I am the might of nations.
God is on my side.
And I, too, know.

Five

I use bureaucracy to unlock the secrets of nature.
I want better for other humans.
But I am also greed and power:
I desire to own. I wish to collect.
I will amass treasure.
I want it all and I want it now.
And I know:
That I can steal.

Six

I am a human being. I am our conscience.
I am conflict resolution. I am anti-authoritarian.
I seek freedom to be more human.
I, too, know.

Seven

I am a human being.
I am part of the ecosystem I am destroying.
I am also conservation.
I am also saturated with data
That tells me that I am dying.
I know that as a human being.
And I am very concerned.

Eight

I am the living planet and I am afraid.
