Squirrel Nutlove was a norty, little Squirrel in the KNP.
HE LOVED NUTS!
He lived with his brothers and sisters at the edge of the Hippo pool.
In the middle of the Hippo pool, there was a banc, with a nut tree, long ago.
There was a hollow tree on the banc, where an owl lived, and his name was Mr. Black
On the 14th June 2006 the nuts were nice, Joosey and ripe.
The Squirrels asked a hippo named Bertha to give them a ride to the banc!
The squirrels asked Mr.Black if they could gather some nuts and offered him four Greater cane-rats.
Nevertheless, Nutlove was always rood and most disrespectful so I will tell you what he did.
He shook Mr.Black, why’ll singing, ‘have a nut for me or not, I shall not rot or not
On the top of a dot, or not, have a nut for me or not, I shall give you a tot or not.’’
The owl paid no attention of the little squirrel and, if he did lissen, he would not be interested at all.
The squirrels hade little baskets, made out of sticks and twigs, to put nuts in.
The squirrels put nuts inside of the baskets and asked Bertha to give them a ride back!
The next day the squirrels asked Bertha to give them a ride again.
They got to the other side and asked, Mr.Black if they could gather some nuts, and offered him two Springhares. They started to gather some nuts and when the baskets were ful, they asked Bertha to give them a ride back.
The next day they found Bertha on the way there and asked ‘why are you here?’
Bertha replied ‘it is a long story’ and sighed,’ I must be on my way now, bye’ and they sed ‘bye’ sadly and then sed ‘wait here, we will be bak’ and brut some joosey leaves.
One day, Bertha was grunting at their house that was made out of straw and squirrel Nutlove came out and said to Bertha “Hello Bertha. We haven’t seen you in a while” and Bertha said ‘I brought you some joosey nuts that I found in the river. ‘
Nutlove took the nuts and said ‘thank-you, Bertha.’
Bertha walked away with her head down.
In spring, the squirrels met up with Bertha again. They were so happy to see each other, that Bertha came up with a great idea. That the squirrels could travel with her to the North and the squirrels agreed.
The hippo and the squirrels hade a grate time together and when Lions, Leopards and cheaters tried to hunt Bertha, the squirrels chased them away. When the squirrels got tired of walking and to keep up, Bertha carried them on her bak. When hawks and birds of pray trid to eat or chase them, Bertha chasd them away. Nutlove leand not to be rood and disrespectful.
They lived happily travelling together, and Nutlove never ran out of nuts!
