Honorary Rangers Combined Forces And Held A Display At Mkhuhlu Plaza Near Hazyview In Mpumalanga.
Date: 2008-06-11
During late May 2008, the Honorary Ranger's National Project team for Public Environmental Awareness Program (PEAP), together with People and Conservation at Skukuza combined forces. They held a joint display at the Mkhuhlu Plaza near Hazyview in Mpumalanga.
“With the able assistance of the HR members from the Lowveld region in Nelspruit, they hosted a two day long display at the Plaza.
Disappointment was high when interested parties learned that the display and items would be going back to Gauteng afterwards. Members of the public who attended the display, and learned from it, were keen to see it stay in their mall, like a permanent reminder.
SANParks member of staff, Miyelani Mhlari was a great help in the display. The public were especially interested in the counter poaching effort, as well as the snakes, both of which are a major concern in their area.
Thank you very much to all who contributed, and made the effort to assist, as well as the huge public interest, who made this a big success.
