on the trail of an elusive owl

The time has finally arrived….for those of you who haven’t a clue what I am on about: It’s the Pel’s Expedition;Wanda, Admin, Diannet, Sandra, Rene, Gwen, DinkyBird and myself are heading off to the kruger National Park in search of the elusive Pel’s Fishing-owl. Gwen has already departed from The Netherlands, I will be heading to Cape Town tomorrow for the flight to Mpumulanga on Wednesday and will meet Gwen and DB on the plane at OT. We will all meet up in the park on Thursday.

Keep an eye on this blog as I will try to update it as often as possible as to what is happening and what we have managed to spot….there has been a challenge for us to find NT’s too, we will do our best lol! Other than that, will also post up all the bird sightings every other day or so, and hopefully be able to give our(Gwen and myself) final list for the Birding Big Day on November 27th….good luck to the rest of the participants on that day, hope you have a super day!

So, a major session of birding coming up…can’t wait!!!!!

Jay :-)

Well, I hope you guys were fortunate and found your elusive Pels – I must brag and say that I’ve been extremely lucky having seen this unreal bird sevearl times in the past – no less than 5 to be exact.
2 were in the KNP ( both were on game walks from trail bush camps ) and 3 up in the Kosi Bay area while on boat trips through the quieter water ways.
    HAPPY BIRDING.
